page updated 01-03-2022 JAGUAR XJR11 Group C Ex rally man David Appleby stole the show with his 1991 TWR Jaguar ex Brundle Le Mans racer in late 1993. The Turbo V6 powered device comprehensively raised the bar and outpaced most of the opposition . The programme notes of the day raved about the arrival of such sports prototypes "creating a standard for sports racing cars almost unequalled outside the World Championship scene" All Photos October 1993 |

JAGUAR XJR17 IMSA Long time local favourite, Brian Chatfield seemed to have different car for every day of the week and often appeared in several races per meetings, Thundersaloons, GTs, Modsaloons etc. His ultimate weapon was the exotic, but previously unraced IMSA spec XJR17 which ran a non-turbo version of the XJR10s engine (itself a thinly disguised MG Metro 6R4 V6) but it seemed to have endless problems with the noise limits at the track from the barking 3.5 litre engine. Brian also ran a GT-spec Jaguar XJ220 (anyone got a photo of that one?) Right - May 1994.
